Longevity in Business
To avoid a "fly-by-night" contractor, or those that frequently change their company names, ensure that the contractor that you will have working for you has been operating under the same name for a considerable length of time.
Pampered Lawns has operated under the same name since 1967.
Texas Licensed Landscape Irrigator
State law requires that before a contractor can design, install maintain or even make a simple repair to an irrigation system, either the technician must be licensed with the Texas Natural Resource Conservation Commission, or must be working under the supervision of a licensed irrigator
Pampered Lawns operates under Texas Irrigator's License Number 5353 and 10111.
Commercial Pesticide Applicator License
State law requires that before a contractor can apply any sort of herbicide, insecticide, or fungicide at your property, the contractor must first be licensed by either the Texas Department of Agriculture, or the Structural Pest Control Board. This helps prevent the over application and misuse of pesticides in our environment.
Pampered Lawns has several employees licensed by the Texas Department of Agriculture.
Contractor's Insurance
To protect yourself, you will want to ensure that your contractor is fully insured with not only General Liability and Automobile Insurance, but Worker's Compensation as well.
Pampered Lawns adequately maintains all three forms of insurance and is bondable.
Trade Affiliations/Certifications
To ensure your contractor is up-to-date on the latest technologies, as well as maintaining certain ethical standards, he should be a member of at least one of the local, state or national trade organizations. Certifications in these organizations are available and recommended.
Pampered Lawns is a member of the Texas Nursery and Landscape Association. We have employees that are Texas Certified Nursery Professionals as well as Certified Landscape Professionals.
Services Offered
Find out what services the landscape contractor performs in-house, as opposed to what services the contractor subcontracts to other firms. When a service is subcontracted, the contractor will usually end up adding an additional 10 to 25% to the subcontractor's price for a "handling fee." This is extra money that can be better spent elsewhere.
